Job Title: Learning Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Learning Designer to support the Royal Canadian Air Force Learning Support Centre at CFB Borden. As a Learning Designer, you will play a critical role in developing high-quality learning content and products that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on learning content products and interim deliverables to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify human performance issues and develop solutions to address them.
  • Perform performance analysis to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
  • Conduct cause analyses to identify the root causes of performance issues and develop recommendations to address them.
  • Identify solutions and make recommendations to improve learning outcomes.
  • Assist in specifying the required training and education outcomes in terms of essential on-job performance.
  • Perform job task analysis to identify the skills and knowledge required for a particular job.
  • Specify performance/education/learning objectives (POs/EdOs/LOs) and produce Qualification Standards (QSs) and/or Knowledge Standards (KS).
  • Describe and/or select instructional strategies and define learner characteristics.
  • Perform instructional and learning paths analysis to identify the most effective learning paths.
  • Prepare learning assessment plans and design learning assessment instruments.
  • Identify and cost instructional/blended learning strategies and specify instructional strategies.
  • Specify learning content and lesson guidance and produce lesson guidance documentation (design guidance documents and scripted storyboards).
  • Produce effective learning instructional materials and identify training/performance requirements.
  • Make recommendations on the procurement of instructional materials and develop style guides for learning content.
  • Conduct beta testing and formative evaluations of learning instructional material to ensure compliance with specified standards and client requirements.
  • Design student evaluations that demonstrate the required level of performance and include appropriate category and level in Bloom's Taxonomy.
  • Record development costs of instructional materials and evaluate instructional materials for possibility of conversion to eLearning.
Qualifications:
  • Must hold a graduate degree and specialization in education, adult learning, distance learning, or e-learning.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in course design.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in designing e-learning products.
