Job Title: Engineering Assistant II

This is a term position for up to 4 months. The City of Regina's Infrastructure Delivery branch is seeking an Engineering Assistant II to perform technical and business support related to database management, asset management, construction, locates, preservation, and operations within sewer, water, and waste infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and coordinate databases related to sewer, water, and waste infrastructure, inspection, safety, material or water quality testing, and field inspection.
  2. Compile statistical and other information required for reports, including running standard and custom computer records as required.
  3. Provide water and sewer locates.
  4. Provide quality control/assurance and analysis of data and information.
  5. Tactfully and adequately respond to concerns and inquiries from the public and other personnel.
  6. Follow all rules and regulations as set out in the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act and the City of Regina Occupational Health and Safety manual.
  7. Perform related duties as required.
Requirements:
  1. Grade Twelve (12) or General Education Development (GED) equivalency.
  2. Typically, two relevant post-secondary courses (engineering, mathematical, computer, business, administrative) (Grade XII courses in Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Computers, Accounting, or Physics are equivalent to post-secondary).
  3. Minimum of two years operational/field/technical/engineering experience in a relevant industry.
Working Conditions:
  1. Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  2. Must be able and willing to perform work of a physical nature in all types of plants, field environments, and inclement conditions.
  3. Candidates must participate in training and be willing to complete recognized certification programs and courses to perform the work and maintain status.
  4. Will be required to work from variable bases of operation.
  5. Must be willing to perform overtime, work shifts, and/or irregular hours.
