Fraser Health seeks an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, small parts, and echocardiography. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for testing, conducting examinations, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for testing by reviewing medical history, explaining procedures, and monitoring patient comfort levels.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures on various sections of the body, utilizing equipment such as probes and Doppler techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records, including labelling permanent records and archiving acquired data.
  • Assist in procedural rooms, setting up biopsy trays, and providing support to patients during procedures.
  • Monitor patient safety during procedures, responding to emergency situations as needed.
Requirements
  • Degree from a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic General Sonography.
  • Certification with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Completion of Intravenous Therapy training course or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of sonography procedures, aseptic techniques, and safe work procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment and software.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
