About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our orthopedic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Research and Education
    • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
    • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Patient Care and Treatment
    • Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
    • Act as consultants to other physicians
    • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
    • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff
  • Professional Development
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements in the field of orthopedic surgery
    • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
    • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
    • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Experience and Skills
    • 5 years or more of experience in orthopedic surgery
    • Excellent clinical and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
