Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Loblaw Companies Ltd - Head Office. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive customer prescriptions, gather all necessary information, and ensure completeness of information
  • Maintain patient and drug information files
  • Check pharmaceutical products prepared by another regulated pharmacy technician or by unregulated pharmacy personnel
  • Confirm accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prepared for release
  • Preparation of prescription labels, affixing prescription and auxiliary labels to prescription container
  • Reconciling accounts and collecting outstanding monies from patients where necessary
  • Retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, mixing, and reconstitution of medications
  • Price prescriptions, prepare receipts, invoices, letters, memos, and general filing
  • Stock medications and related supplies, rotate, and monitor stock
  • Maintaining perpetual inventory system in Kroll
  • Maintain customer privacy and confidentiality
Requirements:
  • Licensing: Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Education: Pharmacy Technician diploma from an accredited program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience if licensed through the OCP bridging program
  • Experience: Preference given to candidates with current pharmacy experience
  • Skills: Familiarity with Healthwatch software, strong math skills, and excellent customer service abilities
