Community Development Fundraiser

We are seeking an experienced Community Development Fundraiser to join our team at Renfrew Educational Services. As a key member of our Senior Executive Team, you will play a crucial role in leading our comprehensive fundraising program, developing and implementing annual capital and multi-year fundraising plans, and cultivating relationships with donors, corporations, foundations, community groups, and granting organizations.

The RoleThis is a full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent position based out of our Janice McTighe Centre in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing annual capital and multi-year fundraising plans to support Renfrew's vision, mission, and goals;
- Cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, corporations, foundations, community groups, and granting organizations;
- Leading the development of high-quality support materials, proposals, grant applications, presentations, and other communication materials for presentations to donors, prospects, and community partners;
- Maintaining a comprehensive database of individuals, corporations, foundations, families, and granting organizations that have been contacted in the past and/or as part of the recent campaign;
- Tracking all donations received and updating the database weekly;
- Coordinating all aspects of a comprehensive fundraising program, including major gifts, grant applications, fundraising events (internal and third party), electronic mail, online giving, planned giving, and donor stewardship;
- Identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding the portfolio of donor prospects;
- Leading the production of the organization's annual report;
- Ensuring all past donors are kept apprised of our progress and new initiatives through distribution of a regularly produced newsletter or other correspondence;
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A university degree in a relevant discipline such as business, not-for-profit management, public relations, communications, or marketing;
- 5-7 years' experience in resource development, project management, or a related field, preferably in a not-for-profit environment;
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and/or operating a successful annual and/or capital campaign;
- Demonstrated ability to make compelling and successful philanthropic asks ranging from $10,000 - $500,000+;
- CFRE or equivalent certification preferred;
- Strong experience with marketing and communications, including digital marketing platforms, social media, and tracking trends for the not-for-profit sector;
- Demonstrated experience with event management;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams;
- Prior experience in one or more funding database programs is essential;
