As an Infrastructure Planning Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our waste management and recycling infrastructure. Your technical expertise and project leadership skills will be essential in driving innovation and ensuring that our infrastructure meets the needs of our growing population.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking feasibility studies and conceptual designs for waste management infrastructure projects.
  • Leading capital investment planning activities, including assessing infrastructure needs and gaps, and developing business cases.
  • Developing terms of reference and specifications for consultants involved in waste management projects.
  • Reporting on project progress and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Supporting the capital prioritization process and developing business cases for capital investments.
  • Integrating input from asset management and continuous improvement practices into our capital investment planning process.
  • Monitoring industry trends in waste management technologies and investigating the potential benefits of applying new technologies within our infrastructure.

Qualifications include a degree in Engineering and at least 4 years of relevant professional engineering experience, as well as a valid Class 5 Driver's License and current licensure as a Professional Engineer with APEGA. Previous experience with project management and/or asset management is considered an asset.
