Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Validate Parts: Verify the content of containers for proper part application and conformance to specified requirements, including LH vs RH application, Front vs Rear application, proper color designation, part number, and part description, correct quantity, and no obvious defects.
  • Verify Packaging: Inspect and verify proper packaging according to packaging plans and/or customer specifications, including packing materials, shipping containers, skids, etc.
  • Inspect Shipping Labels: Verify shipping labels are accurate, properly applied, and legible.
  • Verify Special Identification: Verify any special identification and/or other required documentation is applied to container, if applicable.
  • Maintain Daily Reports: Maintain a daily report of inspection activities.
  • Communicate Concerns: Communicate any concerns to appropriate Supervisors and Department Managers.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Able to physically inspect Company property and assets.
  • Visual Acuity: The ability to see details at close range.
  • Color Discrimination: Excellent visual acuity combined with the ability of a minimum of FMHH average color discrimination.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift, twist, bend, squat, climb, stand, and walk continuously in close, confined surroundings.
  • Manual Dexterity: Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Physical Strength: Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Overtime: Overtime as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associates degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively along with basic mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of molding, paint, or assembly processes preferred.
  • Color Perception: Ability to distinguish colors based on the Munsell color aptitude test and check adequate visual activity.
  • Customer Knowledge: Understanding of customer-specific inspection standards.
  • Soft Skills: A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft and Quality Systems.
  • Teamwork: Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Asset: Experience with PolyWorks considered an asset.
