RBC Borealis is seeking a Senior Researcher to lead the development of Generative AI-based products for the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and scientific guidance to Generative AI projects, working within and across teams. They will also develop innovative machine learning approaches and novel intellectual property, and contribute to defining the research vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and scientific guidance to Generative AI projects;
  • Develop innovative machine learning approaches and novel intellectual property;
  • Contribute to defining the research vision and publish papers;
  • Mentor team members to grow and develop their skills in Generative AI research.
Requirements:
  • A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related technical field;
  • Expertise in machine learning, specifically large language models (LLMs), self-supervised learning, and AI safety;
  • 5 years of experience as a machine learning researcher in a product-centric environment or equivalent experience;
  • A track record of mentorship and high-quality academic publications.
