About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Counselling Steno to join our team at School District #73 (Kamloops-Thompson). As a Counselling Steno, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our counselling office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a central information source, interacting with internal and external contacts on an ongoing basis.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain accurate records.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, and ensure timely transmission of relevant information to internal and external agencies.
  • Record demographic information and process student records.
  • Perform record keeping system functions, including data entry and maintenance.
  • Operate various office machines and equipment, including word processing software.
  • Transcribe dictation and compose correspondence, reports, and other documents.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 supplemented by a program in office procedure, word processing, and data processing courses at the post-secondary level.
  • Three (3) years of proven previous clerical work experience.
  • Keyboarding speed of 50 w.p.m.
