About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our team at Badger Daylighting LP. As a Hydrovac Operator, you will be responsible for operating high-pressure water and vacuum systems to dig precisely and efficiently, uncover utilities, and contribute to various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate hydrovac equipment and perform hydrovac duties in a variety of working environments, including confined spaces.
  • Drive our hydrovac trucks (approximately 10-15% of total work time).
  • Attend safety meetings and perform routine inspections and minor repairs of the hydrovac equipment.
  • Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards.
  • Document and report all Badger, Federal, provincial, and Customer paperwork accurately and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Valid 1, 3 or DZ license (A-D license in Ontario) with airbrake endorsement.
  • First aid, Ground Disturbance and CSTS preferred (other safety tickets including but not limited to Fall protection, H2S alive and Confined Spaces may also be required depending on location).
  • Preferred experience driving a manual transmission (10-18 speed) without automatic restrictions.
  • Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions.
  • Prior hydrovac equipment operation or related industrial experience preferred.
