Job Summary:

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining various heavy equipment, including excavators, front loaders, bulldozers, and other machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment to bale, load, and move waste material in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate work activities and prioritize tasks.
  • Conform to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, procedures, and directives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a similar environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply common sense in a standardized setting.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
