Actuarial Rotation Program Overview

BMO Financial Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Rotation Program candidate to join our team. As an Actuarial Rotation Program participant, you will have the opportunity to work in various areas of the organization, including Actuarial Pricing, Corporate Actuarial, Reinsurance, Investments & ALM, and Corporate Risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute calculations and analysis for regulatory and management reporting
  • Provide support to the actuarial production of work
  • Extract and compile actuarial data to ensure compliance with prescribed guidelines
  • Develop solutions and make recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs
  • Provide advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment between stakeholders
  • Break down strategic problems and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs
  • Lead/participate in the design, implementation, and management of core business/group processes
  • Identify business needs and design/develop tools and training programs
  • Assist with calculations required for the opinion on various Appointed Actuary legal responsibilities
  • Check and review various outputs from models used as the basis for the Appointed Actuary's opinion
Requirements
  • Typically between 4-6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ASA designation
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience
  • Working understanding of Corporate Reporting Process (Valuation, Projections) and/or pricing analysis methodology & reporting
  • Working product knowledge of Traditional, Term, and Universal Life products
  • Strong knowledge of various systems (AXIS, Ingenium, Excel, Access)
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth
