Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead our electrical construction operations team. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for the direction, completion, and financial outcome of electrical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and monitor project development to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Coordinate daily/weekly meetings with project engineers to develop project means/methods and schedule contracting needs.
- Manage electrical field operations and work sequence in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections, and review and negotiate change orders.
- Establish work plans and staffing needs for each phase of the project.
- Form and lead an effective project management team, define, and delegate management responsibilities and set goals.
- Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
- Ensure electricians and engineers understand and execute work as required by client/project specifications.
- Ensure safety, quality, and production are always maintained.
- Responsible for project closeout: securing loose ends by finishing paperwork, obtaining retainages, supporting supervisors, and expediting claims.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is an asset.
- At least 5 years of work experience managing electrical aspects of commercial construction projects with a proven track record of successful outcomes.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, project owner specifications, engineering drawings, and other project documents/reports.
- Ability to work successfully both independently and as a team to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done the first time.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
