Job Title: Housekeeper / Cook

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Housekeeper / Cook to join our team at Charles MacPherson Associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our residence, as well as preparing meals for our family.

Responsibilities:
  • Housekeeping: Daily cleaning and organization of the residence, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, and washing floors.
  • Cooking: Daily meal preparation and cooking of basic dishes following recipes.
  • Inventory Management: Management of groceries, cleaning products, and toiletries.
  • Laundry and Ironing: Regular laundry and occasional steaming or ironing.
  • Trash and Recycling: Management of trash and recycling.
  • Patio and Pool Maintenance: Weekly cleaning of patio furniture and pool during the summer months.
  • Supervision: Supervision of trades and contractors as needed in conjunction with our executive assistant.
  • Security: Ensuring household security protocols are followed.
  • Reception and Errands: Answering the door, receiving packages, and running errands as needed.
  • Pet Care: Light pet care.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills and professional personal presentation.
  • Physical Abilities: Comfortable reaching high spaces using a house ladder and lifting 30 pounds.
  • Housekeeping Skills: Excellent housekeeping, laundry, and ironing skills; correct use of products and methods for fine finishes and surfaces.
  • Confidentiality: Must maintain privacy and confidentiality always, exercising diplomacy, discretion, and respecting appropriate boundaries.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Transportation: Must have a full license and reliable access to a vehicle.
