Ontario Inc is hiring a skilled Concrete Finishing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality concrete finishes that meet our company's standards.



Key Responsibilities


  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to ensure a smooth finish
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and achieve the desired consistency
  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification for a professional finish
  • Work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages to complete tasks safely and efficiently
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, including trowels and floats
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on best practices for concrete finishing
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures to ensure a secure and durable finish
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and prevent damage
  • Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces to their original condition
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to ensure safety and functionality
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities


  • Work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods
  • Bend, crouch, and kneel to complete tasks, requiring flexibility and attention to detail
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete tasks safely and efficiently
  • Use sound judgment and attention to detail to ensure a safe and high-quality finish

  • Develop excellent oral communication skills to effectively instruct apprentices and communicate with team members
  • Display flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced construction environment

Experience


  • Minimum 1 year of experience in concrete finishing, with a strong understanding of best practices and safety protocols
