About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team in Whitehorse, Yukon. As a key member of our Arctic Engineering group, you will be responsible for assisting with field geotechnical assessments and sampling, performing field nuclear density compaction testing, and conducting construction inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with field geotechnical assessments and sampling
  • Perform field nuclear density compaction testing
  • Conduct construction inspections
  • Perform construction QA/QC
  • Record, report, and maintain test result records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and carry out assignments with minimal supervision
  • Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates
  • Prepare or supervise the preparation of rock, mineral, or metal samples and perform physical and chemical laboratory tests
  • Assist with the management of technical field and laboratory staff
  • Manage small to medium quality control and quality assurance projects
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on various laboratory and field-testing projects
Requirements
  • Geology, Civil Engineering, or Construction Services Diploma from a recognized technical school
  • Demonstrated practical hands-on design, construction administration, and project management expertise (i.e., related office and field experience) is an asset but not required
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Arc GIS, Auto Cad
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Must be willing to travel and work in a field setting away from headquarters
  • CSA-approved Steel-Toed Safety Boots required
