About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal to join our Investor Relations team in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing our fundraising process and developing strategic relationships with existing and prospective investors.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to manage the fundraising process and develop strategic relationships with investors.
  • Produce high-quality due diligence materials, including presentations, DDQs, RFPs, and other related fund documents.
  • Coordinate and participate in investor meetings, including Investment and Operational Due Diligence sessions.
  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance, and investors to complete fund closings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing investor inquiries.
  • Help coordinate multiple LP events, including Limited Partner Advisory Committees and Annual General meetings.
  • Lead strategic projects for the IR and Capital Formation teams.
  • Contribute to developing our growing retail product offering.
  • Investor reporting.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field, with a post-graduate degree considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in investor relations, client services, financial services, consulting, or marketing.
  • Experience working with private funds and wealth channels, with knowledge of venture capital and private equity preferred.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience authoring quarterly letters, newsletters, and LP communications preferred.
  • Registration as an Exempt Market Dealer (EMD) or willingness to become an EMD.
  • Strong financial and business intuition, with the ability to summarize complex financial and operational information and present it in a simplified manner.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of multitasking with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and strategic with strong technical and interpersonal skills combined with the desire to work closely with various teams across the company.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and CRM technology.
  • Strategic and hands-on - Strategic demeanor coupled with the willingness and interest to work across business lines of the organization both to plan and complete projects.
  • Rigorous - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; organized and exceptional attention to detail; a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced, results-oriented workplace; hard-working and willing to work nights and weekends when required.
