UBC's Faculty of Applied Science is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Manager, Academic Innovation & Accreditation. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of our faculty by leading the development and implementation of innovative academic programs and ensuring the accreditation of our engineering programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive academic initiatives, including non-credit certificate and undergraduate and graduate programs, in collaboration with faculty members and senior leaders.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to departments and schools in the Faculty of Applied Science, including advising on complex academic project plans, defining project objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Manage the accreditation process for the Faculty of Applied Science's engineering programs, including creating internal policies, analyzing data, and developing sustainable systems for data collection and presentation.
- Work closely with the Associate Dean, Academic and the Executive Director, Strategy and Planning to conceptualize plans and provide leadership to departments and schools in the Faculty of Applied Science.
- Collaborate with faculty members to lead the planning and execution of curriculum projects and programs from initial conception to completion.
- Master's degree in Education or a related field.
- Minimum of six years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively with teams, as well as independently, and to prioritize and take initiative in determining work priorities.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, determine implications, and provide recommendations.
- Ability to critically analyze problems, identify key information and issues, and effectively resolve problems.
