Job Summary

The Senior Finance Strategist will oversee the finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strategic financial planning, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company's goals.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals. Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare reports for executive management, providing insights into financial performance and strategic recommendations. Oversee the preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and ensure the organization has the liquidity needed to meet its obligations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, including market fluctuations and regulatory changes. Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, providing mentorship and guidance. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance department. Serve as a key advisor to senior management on financial matters.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and cash management.
  • Experience in ABL (asset-based lending) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).
  • Bilingual.
