Walker Industries is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at our Severn Quarry. As a Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating powerful, heavy quarry trucks and performing regular and preventative maintenance on trucks and other plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Heavy Equipment: Drive haul trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform daily pre-operational checkups, general maintenance, and repairs on trucks and other equipment as needed.
- Reporting and Communication: Report any immediate repairs required for safe operation to the direct Supervisor and participate in daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
- Teamwork and Safety: Promote and execute the company's safety program, encourage a culture of safety, and work with the Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents, or near misses.
- Experience: Although experience is preferred, it is not necessary. We will train you in the operation of our haul trucks and safety programs.
- Skills: Mechanical aptitude, ability to work in a team environment, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
- Education: Common Core training is considered an asset.
- Competitive Wages: Starting rate of $27.25 with an increase after 3 months and annual increases.
