Job Description
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide evidence-based services to individuals, groups, or communities, focusing on occupational performance to meet their needs. You may act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate, working closely with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care.
You will engage clients, families, and communities to enable meaningful occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure activities. Your goal will be to support clients in achieving optimal functional abilities and independence, considering their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, collaborative goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referral, transition support, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation plans.
- Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich support, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- A bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
- Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $83,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
