PLC Programmer

About the Role
Magna is seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for maintaining all programmable controllers, electronics components, and systems of our shop floor machines.
Your Responsibilities
- Remain up-to-date on new innovations in the field by reading and engaging in self-study of technical publications.
- Maintain all PLC programs and software, ensuring confidentiality and security.
- Engage in training on new advancements in the field, staying current with industry developments.
- Participate in maintenance department meetings, providing input and suggestions for improvement based on technical knowledge.
- Interact with other maintenance employees to exchange technical information, facilitating teamwork in troubleshooting and repair processes.
- Responsible for protecting own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
- Operate laptop computer to troubleshoot and change PLC programs.
- Repair electronic parts, design and modify electronics and electrical circuits.
- Receive communication from production staff pertaining to repairs required.
- Maintain and update revision log notes after all edits.
- Keep supervisor aware of repairs and modifications required and performed.
