About the Role
As a Senior Prototype Manufacturing Engineer at Boston Scientific, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the development and execution of R&D prototypes. Your primary responsibilities include managing the prototype build process, documenting manufacturing instructions, and planning prototype assembly.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Plan prototype builds for R&D, including orders, timelines, and resources.
- Prepare manufacturing instructions from pictures and drawing assemblies and BOMs.
- Track all built prototypes and coordinate traceability with the inventory team and quality.
- Work with technicians to plan out action items, support them in their questions, and facilitate prototype builds.
- Review drawings and Bill of materials to prepare Excel sheets for component orders with quantities based on demand.
- Manage inventory using a Master Excel sheet and maintain it with frequent inventory counts.
- Prevent shortages of supply or manage unexpected shortages.
- Reconcile inventory differences between physical stock and digital data.
- Track Equipment Assets and coordinate Test qualification instructions with subject matter experts.
- Coordinate equipment and Fixtures/tools builds and release.
- Work with external vendors to ensure the schedule facility tasks are completed and documented in the electronic management system.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Basic technical concepts and practices and a basic understanding of product or systems fundamentals.
- Experience using Excel for inventory tracking and Master lists.
- Minimum 3-5 years related experience as a manufacturing engineer.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Software, including Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, and MS Word.
