About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Wetland Assessment and Impact Professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and developing our wetland services division, including strategy, business development, and process improvement. As a technical lead, you will guide clients and internal teams on wetland-related projects, ensuring compliance with Alberta Wetland Policy and other regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong field identification and assessment skills, with a passion for continued learning. They will have experience conducting environmental assessments, including wetland classification, function assessments, and hydrological monitoring. A solid understanding of industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and best practices is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop Synergy's wetland services division, including strategy, business development, and process improvement.
  • Act as a technical lead, guiding clients and internal teams on wetland-related projects.
  • Conduct wetland classification, function assessments, and hydrological monitoring in compliance with Alberta Wetland Policy and other regulations.
  • Prepare and review Wetland Assessment and Impact Reports (WAIR), Wetland Assessment and Impact Forms (WAIF), and ABWRET-A evaluations.
  • Provide regulatory expertise on Alberta's Water Act, Fisheries Act, and other environmental policies.
