Job Title: CNC Machinist Operations Specialist


Description: NOV Inc is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Operations Specialist to join our team in Edmonton. As a CNC Machinist Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for operating computer-controlled machine tools to cut, drill, shape, and finish products and components used in engineering and manufacturing. This role requires expertise in machining applications, tooling criteria, and process documentation. Proficiency in G-Code and Mazatrol programming is considered an asset.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Set up and operate CNC machines to maximize material and equipment usage
  • Perform precise measuring to ensure components meet specific tolerances and surface finishes
  • Operate and handle materials and tools in a safe manner
  • Report environmental and health & safety issues
  • Ensure a clean work area and wear safety equipment
  • Assist with training other employees
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:



  • 6+ years' experience with CNC lathe and/or mill setup and operation
  • Trade certification considered an asset
  • Overhead crane and forklift certificates required
  • Weingartner and Leistritz experience considered an asset
  • Ability to edit programs
  • Dealing with ambiguity, customer focus, integrity, drive for results, customer focus, effective communication, and HSE requirements
