Senior Commercial Underwriter (Mid-Market)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriter to join our team at Impact Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing insurance risks for mid-market clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to mitigate risks and ensure accurate premium pricing.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and internal stakeholders to provide expert advice on insurance solutions.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Mentor junior underwriters and provide guidance on underwriting best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in commercial P&C underwriting, with a focus on mid-market clients.
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting disciplines and pricing models.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent on-the-job experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coaching experience for underwriters and leadership experience.
  • Completion of CIP, FCIP, or CRM designation(s).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
