Job Title: Auto Body Technician

We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team at Basco Collision Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their original condition.

Responsibilities:
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure proper handling and safety
  • Clean and maintain workspaces to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Instruct apprentices in the art of auto body repair and restoration
  • Replace front end components, body components, doors, and frame, as well as underbody components
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
  • Hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
  • Repair or replace interior components
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in auto body repair and restoration
  • Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Physically demanding work requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling
