We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Liaison Nurse Specialist to join our team at Health Careers in Sask. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a unique blend of clinical expertise, communication skills, and leadership abilities.

Job Overview

The Psychiatric Liaison Nurse Specialist will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide individualized assessment and care to patients presenting with mental health and/or substance misuse challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality services that cater to the needs of these patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert assessment and care to patients in the ER with mental health and/or substance misuse challenges
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, community MHAS, and other stakeholders to develop and deliver quality services
  • Act as a role model and clinical resource for management of psychiatric, intoxicated, and aggressive patients
  • Develop and lead others through the development of a long-term vision for this position
  • Research, coordinate, and evaluate an integrated program

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Three years of full-time experience in acute psychiatric or community MH nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent
  • Basic CPR and ASSIST certification
  • Strong keyboarding and computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to critically think and make decisions in accordance with policies and procedures

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $42,040 to $52,440 per year, based on location and experience.
