Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Killam Apartment REIT in Edmonton, AB. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our residential properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and renovations, to ensure the properties are in good condition.
  • Install and replace trim items, such as doors, stairs, and molding, as needed.
  • Conduct general maintenance and painting tasks to maintain the appearance and integrity of the properties.
  • Utilize knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Refinish floors, including sanding and finishing, to maintain the properties' appearance.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, approximately every 8-9 weeks, to ensure prompt response to maintenance requests.
  • Assist with snow removal during winter months to ensure safe access to the properties.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar maintenance role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Renovations experience and knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems are assets.
  • Valid Alberta driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
