Standards Development Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

As a Co-op Student with CSA Group, you will assist in the development of leading-edge standards solutions for the Power Generation (Nuclear) team. Your tasks will include:

  • Preparation and maintenance of project documentation, such as meeting notices, agendas, and draft minutes.
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives to optimize data collection, analysis, and reporting systems.
  • Scheduling and convening in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Disseminating and maintaining committee documentation and correspondence.
  • Following up with members on action items and handling assigned tasks.

Education and Experience:

We are looking for students in their second year or higher of an undergraduate program, preferably in a related technical field such as nuclear energy or energy systems, engineering disciplines like civil, mechanical, chemical, or electrical, or business and management. Knowledge of standards, government policy, and the nuclear sector landscape is an asset. Experience working with volunteers and multi-stakeholder groups is also valuable.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills, including relationship management, facilitation, and networking. They will have highly developed oral and written communication skills, as well as project management, organizational, and planning skills. Self-motivation, initiative, resilience, and adaptability are essential, along with a strong ability to be a team player and proficient computer skills.
