About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Analyst to join our team at Definity Financial. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the valuation, month-end booking, and reporting of policy liabilities, as well as analyzing claims experience and providing input to other departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and categorize data from various sources, including spreadsheets, databases, and statistical software, to support valuation and analysis
  • Communicate complex actuarial concepts to management and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, with supporting documentation
  • Produce data exhibits and analyses to measure, track, and monitor company and industry performance
  • Independently respond to routine requests from internal and external stakeholders related to standard reports and processes
  • Perform peer reviews on the technical and qualitative analysis of peers and junior staff
Requirements
  • University degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics, with completion of 4-6 exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in reserving
  • Strong programming skills, including knowledge of SAS and efficient use of Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, VBA, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Able to perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Team player, adaptable to a changing and fast-paced environment
