Job Title: Family Physician

Haven Stony Plain is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Physician to join our team. As a Family Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients of all ages, from infants to seniors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze medical information from patients, family members, and other medical professionals to identify diseases and injuries.
  • Examine patients' health conditions to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Help patients develop healthy habits, break old habits, and improve their overall well-being.
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to determine the most appropriate medical treatment.
  • Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health.
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as needed.
  • Perform and assist in routine surgery, as required.
  • Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases.
  • Participate in healthcare policy and planning to improve patient outcomes.
  • Advise patients on healthcare options and provide education on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related incidents to government authorities.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Coordinate or manage primary patient care, as needed.
  • Provide acute care management, emergency care, and counseling services to patients and their families.
  • Supervise home care services, as required.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
