We are seeking an experienced AR/AP Accountant to join our team. As an AR/AP Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with the finance team to prepare financial reports, manage budgets, and analyze financial data. In addition, you will collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow. Responsibilities

- Record standard journal entries and adhoc entries as needed to present accurate financial information
- Perform three-way matching and post vendor invoices timely
- Maintain accounts payable email
- Prepare weekly cheque runs
- Process weekly bank deposits for incoming cheques
- Process AR invoices for customers
- Act as a back-up for the US AP team and assist as needed
- Respond to internal and external vendor/customer questions and requests appropriately and timely
- Communicate with co-workers and management in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist in preparation of audit schedules

Requirements

- Two (2) year Associates degree in accounting or working toward a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas and pivot tables
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of various operating systems, software products (e.g. word processors, spreadsheet programs, etc.)
- Electronic and hard copy file maintenance, back-up, and organization
- Ability to handle high volume transactions
