The Electrical Safety Authority is seeking an experienced Senior Manager Engineering to lead our team of Code, Utility Regulations, and Powerline Safety Engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the team through hiring, performance review, mentoring, and overseeing the development of teamwork plans while setting expectations to ensure team deliverables are complete.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Ontario Electrical Safety Code development and conduct difficult and complex engineering and technical analysis of problems
- Liaise with external stakeholders regarding technical issues, code, and regulatory requirements
- Provide operational consultation services to General Managers, Technical Advisors, and Senior Electrical Inspectors by responding to their enquiries and assisting and advising technical and regulatory personnel on the interpretation and application of electrical codes and electrical equipment product safety
Requirements:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent level of education
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering with a minimum of 3 years managing programs and people effectively
- Knowledge of the electrical industry, the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and Distribution Regulation, and electrical engineering theory is essential
