We are seeking a skilled Psychologist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Psychologist, you will work individually and as part of a team to provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment intervention to individuals, families, and groups. You will also provide consultations to hospital staff, engage in research and program evaluation, and develop and evaluate new assessment and treatment programs to better meet patient needs.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Psychology from an educational institution acceptable to the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology. You should be registered or eligible to register with the appropriate regulatory body within the Province of Nova Scotia. Advanced training and experience in child and adolescent mental health are essential. You should have a strong understanding of the DSM and be able to assess and diagnose childhood mental health disorders, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavior disorder, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment intervention to individuals, families, and groups
- Provide consultations to hospital staff
- Engage in research and program evaluation
- Develop and evaluate new assessment and treatment programs
- Teach and supervise psychology trainees and other health profession learners
- PhD in Psychology from an educational institution acceptable to the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology
- Registered or eligible to register with the appropriate regulatory body within the Province of Nova Scotia
- Advanced training and experience in child and adolescent mental health
- Strong understanding of the DSM
- Ability to assess and diagnose childhood mental health disorders
