We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Polka Dot Fine Art & Education. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children to grow and develop.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This will involve synthesizing the overall situation of the children and communicating information to parents, leading activities, and encouraging children to express creativity through various media.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate information to parents.
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
- Encourage children to express creativity through various media, such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
- Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
- Establish guidelines for behavior and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
- Experience an asset.
