About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. As a key member of our food services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food and service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs to maintain efficient kitchen operations
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to meet the needs of our residents
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet dietary requirements
  • Prepare special meals for patients as instructed by our dietitian or chef
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked kitchen
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Manage kitchen operations to ensure efficient and effective service
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Excellent oral communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic environment
