Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Commodity Analyst to join our team at RONA Inc. As a key member of our procurement and cost optimization team, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing the costs of various commodities used in our production processes.

Your primary focus will be on understanding and mitigating the impact of commodity market fluctuations on our cost structure. You will collaborate closely with the merchandising, finance, and sourcing teams to ensure cost-effective procurement and efficient use of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed cost analysis of commodities, including raw materials, components, and finished goods, with a focus on identifying cost increases linked to market fluctuations.
  • Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics to forecast commodity prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the merchandizing team to help them align their pricing negotiation, terms, and contracts, ensuring the best value for the company.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with commodity price volatility and supply chain disruptions.
  • Maintain and update databases with relevant cost and market data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in cost analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to analyze complex data sets and market trends.
  • Proficiency in conducting market research to monitor price fluctuations.
  • Attention to detail, with precision in managing data and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Clear and concise communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
