The Role

This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule, including one in four weekends and occasional stat holidays. As a Medical Specimen Collector, you will be responsible for greeting patients, collecting specimens, and ensuring test protocols are followed.

Your Responsibilities

  • Greet and request required information from patients, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure patients follow necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection.
  • Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
  • Complete data entry of patient demographics, requisition information, and other details related to processing test results.

Requirements

  • A graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
  • Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
