About the Role

B+H Architects is seeking a highly experienced Senior Healthcare Planner to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our Healthcare Architecture and Interior Design team, you will be responsible for delivering large-scale healthcare projects in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, zoning and building codes, and building materials.
  • Lead the management of deliverables for the medical planning team within the project schedule.
  • Lead the medical planning process within the design team to create department floor plan concepts reflective of operations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients on planning issues.
  • Guide discussions on medical equipment needs.
  • Lead or support the coordination of all disciplines related to building design and health planning.
  • Prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives as well as drawings and specification documents.
  • Provide planning, design, and coordination support on projects and pursuits.
  • Mentor team members at all levels or other interested colleagues in health planning practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum 12 years' experience in healthcare planning, preferably with large, public projects.
  • Clear understanding of institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments.
  • Clear understanding of applicable codes and building construction systems, materials, and standards.
  • Understanding of current and future healthcare trends.
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings, and models.
  • Strong computer skills (REVIT, MS Office Suite, Blue Beam).
