Job Title: Plasterer

We are seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our team at BLUE STAR PROJECTS LTD.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints, as well as preparing surfaces and curing freshly plastered surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Tenders and Quotations: Estimate costs and materials for plastering projects.
  • Apply Plaster Coats: Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to walls and ceilings.
  • Clean and Prepare Surfaces: Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering, including filling joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound.
  • Cure Freshly Plastered Surfaces: Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure a strong bond.
  • Fabricate and Install Suspended Metal Ceiling Grids: Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Install Drywall Sheets: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets.
  • Mix Plaster Ingredients: Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency.
  • Install Ornamental Plaster Panels: Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim.
  • Position and Secure Sheets: Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Smooth Out Excess Compound: Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
  • Tape Over Joints: Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
  • Install Corner Beads and Wire Mesh: Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials for plastering projects.
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Work Setting: Commercial and residential settings.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus and reliability required.
Experience:
  • Duration: 7 months to less than 1 year.
  • Employment Type: Permanent.
  • Language: English.
  • Hours of Work: 30 hours per week.
