Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled orthopedic surgeon or family physician with a diploma in sports medicine to join our multi-disciplinary sports medicine clinic.
Responsibilities- Examine patients and take their medical histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures, and advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Consult with and refer patients to other medical practitioners as needed.
- Act as a patient advocate and provide expert medical care.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations.
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health concerns to public health authorities.
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
