About the Role

We are seeking a skilled IT Developer to join our team at the City of Calgary. As a key member of our technology team, you will play a critical role in developing, testing, and implementing new software functionality to support our business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update code and documentation, perform testing and quality assurance, and implement new software functionality and applications.
  • Participate in identifying clients' business needs and developing creative and innovative solutions that match business needs with application functionality.
  • Provide technical expertise to peers and clients in the form of user manuals and training on issues such as user acceptance testing.
  • Develop estimates and timelines on work required considering issues such as complexity and track actual to estimated amounts.
Qualifications
  • A completed 2-year technical diploma such as Information Technology or a related diploma.
  • Previous experience documenting functionality or processes would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power platform and Dynamics would be considered an asset.
  • Microsoft PL200 certification would be considered an asset.
  • Success in the position requires an intermediate level of proficiency with as well as one or more of the following: Application development languages such as Web and Mobile development tools such as HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, Java Script, jQuery/Mobile, JSON. Databases such as Oracle, SQL, server, MySQL. Integration tools such as Webservices. Development tools such as Visual Studio, VMWare, TFS.
