About the Role

We're seeking a talented Fixed Income Production Support Specialist to join our Capital Markets Technology team at CIBC. As an Application Support Consultant, you will be responsible for facilitating, supporting, and providing service delivery for our applications, as well as advising on developing processes to enhance them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve high to critically complex production problems for support of applications, making decisions and thinking critically when solving problems.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and Developers on bug fixes and new product releases, advising on and researching all aspects of effective and efficient application or technical service delivery.
  • Establish and build healthy working relations with the line of business we support, as well as other related teams, working with external vendors and various technical teams to restore service during outages and perform application validation after regular infrastructure maintenance.
  • Monitor and analyze services to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting a Front Office Trading Application, preferably with Fixed Income/Repo exposure. Strong technical trouble-shooting ability, including knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical problems and interpreting server logs.
  • Expertise navigating a Unix environment and reading basic scripts (Python/Shell), writing SQL queries for day-to-day troubleshooting and creating ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Experience with ITRS real-time monitoring tool and working knowledge of trading systems such as Bloomberg TOMS, FIS Apex, Broadway, or AXE trader.
