Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support our Manufacturing Operations in Calgary, AB. As an integral member of our HR team, you will play a key role in driving tactical and operational HR initiatives across a designated client group within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with leaders and employees alike. They will also have a proven track record in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training, communication, succession planning, and Human Rights compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Be the primary point of contact and advisor to managers and employees across the client group, providing effective counsel by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies (and collective agreements where required) and responding to work-related inquiries.
  2. Partner with managers and the talent acquisition team to lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
  3. Drive performance management processes, ensuring improvement plans, succession strategies, and developmental opportunities are in place.
  4. Assist with Employee Engagement activities/surveys, ensuring follow up to issues as they arise and appropriate escalation.
  5. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of human resource policies, ensuring all policies in place are in adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  6. Collaborate with Health & Safety (H&S) teams to promote a behavior-based safety culture, reducing incidents and fostering a safe work environment.
  7. Analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, safety reports) to identify trends and recommend strategic actions to address gaps and improve outcomes.
  8. Manage the termination and offboarding process with professionalism and sensitivity, ensuring compliance and seamless transitions.
  9. In coordination with internal communications staff, assist in the preparation and distribution of HR communications, including assisting functional leaders with key messaging for town hall/employee meetings.
