Teaching Vacancy in Nechako Lakes School District

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our team as a District Teacher on Call. This is a continuing position that involves regular substitute teaching work in the Burns Lake area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior/senior grade levels
  • Develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences
  • Use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners
  • Work from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs
  • Use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice
  • Experience with competency-based assessment strategies and differentiating instruction
  • Integrate appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary)
  • Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare
  • Ability to work closely with parents/guardian and caregivers and the broader community
  • Supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Ongoing professional learning for the purpose of strengthening student learning
  • Making evidence-based, collaborative decisions about student learning in a professional learning community environment
