About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Childcare Professional to join our team at the YMCA Tumbler Ridge Care & Learning Centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver High-Quality Care: Interact directly with children, providing quality care and creative programming that promotes their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Foster Positive Relationships: Establish and maintain positive daily communications and interactions with families, ensuring they feel welcome and informed about their child's progress.
  • Program Planning: Assist in planning and implementing a consistent child-centred program that aligns with the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum and meets the unique needs of each child.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with staff to deliver a high-quality and age-appropriate program that promotes learning and development.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA Child Protection Policies to ensure a safe and healthy environment for children.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Current and valid Early Childhood Educator License to Practice.
  • Experience: Three satisfactory professional references and experience working with children in a childcare/recreational setting.
  • Certifications: Current child care First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain, and a Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Salary: $29.00 - $30.90 per hour, including Government Wage Enhancement (currently $6.00/hour for fully certified Early Childhood Educators).
  • Benefits: YMCA membership, paid sick days for yourself and family, 6% vacation pay, paid training, full benefits package, 5% employer-matched pension, education and career advancement opportunities.
