Job Title: Rehabilitation Counsellor

Job Summary:

The Rehabilitation Counsellor plays a vital role in providing counselling, education, and support services to individuals, families, and the community affected by alcohol, drugs, and gambling. This position requires a commitment to a client-centered approach and a strong understanding of evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Communicate effectively with clients and staff, presenting a professional and approachable demeanor.
  2. Respond to client requests and crises in a timely and flexible manner.
  3. Balance the needs of clients, staff, and the organization.
  4. Engage in ongoing professional development and reciprocal learning experiences with colleagues and supervisors.
  5. Adhere to personal and professional ethics, integrity, and responsibility.
  6. Manage emotions and maintain a calm composure under challenging circumstances.
  7. Conduct bio-psychosocial/spiritual assessments and develop client-centered treatment plans.
  8. Provide individual and group counselling services to adults with primary concerns related to alcohol, drugs, and/or gambling.
  9. Match treatment services to clients' unique circumstances.
  10. Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
  11. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and establish professional relationships with community organizations.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

This position requires a strong understanding of addiction, mental health, and community support principles. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
