Michaels is seeking a Store Associate to join our team. As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including maintaining store cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.
Key Responsibilities:- Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures.
- Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
- Moves equipment and products for proper cleaning and places products back in correct placement.
- Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
- Deep cleans key areas of the store, including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways, and other high traffic areas to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
- Maintains positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers, even in difficult situations, in keeping with the organization's vision and values.
- Projects a positive image and serves as a role model for other Team Members.
- Provides a fast and friendly check out experience; executes cash handling to standards.
- Engages customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and completes enrollments.
- Assists with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
- Participates in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
- Supports shrink and safety programs.
- Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; executes Company policies and standards.
- Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
